An anemic sort of Monday

Did today really happen for any of you out there? 'Cause I could swear the world stopped and was a bit foggy all day. I stumbled through it, my head in the clouds, letting Emma watch more than her fair share of movies and not caring how many messes the baby was making. Around 4:30 p.m., I finally got out of jammies, but only because I knew hubby was on his way home. Dinner consisted of warming up a yummy casserole our sweet church friend made us. At least Emma and I managed to bake some cookies this afternoon, which gives me something tangible to show for my day!

We've all been dealing with allergies around here, which have been compounded by the mold that's been discovered behind our dishwasher. G's taking care of it, but in the meantime, we've had tools, dead appliances, and ripped-up flooring in yet another portion of our downstairs. (Oh, have I not yet blogged about Leak #1 which occured over two months ago? A story for another day.)

So what kind of a lazy bum am I, you ask? Well, the "good" news is, my doctor told me last week that my bloodwork showed anemia. Whew. It's not all in my head. I mean, it's one thing to be tired from pregnancy and caring for two kiddos, but quite another thing to regularly feel like you've taken a bit too much Benadryl...you know the feeling...when opening your eyes seems like a monumental undertaking. I was beginning to worry, but anemia during pregnancy is very common, and easily treatable, and I would much rather know there's a real cause to me being a First Class Slug.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go get into my jammies. I've been out of them for three whole hours already!

Hehe, I am right there with you. I have been enemic with all 3 of mine and no big deal, as a matter of fact I stay pretty much that way whether pregnant or not. So the general feelings of sluggishness and concern with why when my mind tells my body to move it fails to respond are quite common around here. My poor hubby has to deal with the" Oh fudge, I THOUGHT I made dinner already, really I told myself to anyway." Then he goes into the kitchen to find extremely thawed uncooked meat and retorts "Umm, dinner for me not the dog hunny!"

Least when pregnant he doesn't even bother to ask about dinner. There are some positives to the swollen anckles, memory loss, nausea(did I mention that has returned the last couple weeks?), overly large tummy, inability to get a good breath much less a good nights rest. Oh I could go on and on, but I hold now to the fact that in a few(5 rather) short weeks, I will be meeting our God-given miracle and rejoicing!

You are too funny, Stephanie! Yes, I've had days like your Monday, but, unfortunately, I couldn't claim anemia. I'll have to go with First Class Slug on those......

I'm glad you got it figured out! I know what anemia feels like.. it's not fun! And on top of that, being pregnant? I have NO idea.... Glad you're on the road to recovery!
