I took a language test the other day, too (how weird is that for us to both do that). It said I had a NEW ENGLAND accent. Guess they are saying, "y'all" a lot up north these days. Or my Mom wore off on me.
I just took the same test - it placed me as "Midland". Interesting!
FYI - I'm from northern Illinois.
