Veil of Tears

Life is a veil of tears
We're covered with sorrow, drowning in fears.
Bring me tomorrow, do I dare ask,
Or will it merely look like the past?
The days, they turn into years.

We walk through this desert each day
For an oasis we beg and we pray;
But when we stumble upon it and drink
Still, we can't help but think
We cannot, will not, forever here stay.

For we are sojourners on this earth
And though we cherish times of mirth
We know this place is not our home
There's only so long that we can roam
For lo, we've been lost since our birth.

Phew! I'm so glad you came to your senses and got rid of him. A CAT???? You had fallen from grace, but it seems you may have redeemed yourself with the boot. I believe the huge rat, ahem, mouse, is the one that was residing in our garage. He could eat the cheese off the trap without tripping the trap. We set out sticky traps and he has since disappeared. Perhaps Jer found him.

Oh, you can see I'm not a blogger, I can't even comment in the right section. My comment was obviously about the "Puss in boots" adventure.

Stephanie,what a wonderful poem. I had no idea that you wrote poetry. Thanks for sharing. We really are kindred spirits. I feel the same way that you do in so many of your posts. I hope that you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Amy
