Just a quick update, and a little pig-me-up

Thank you all for loving and encouraging me after my last vague post. The fog has definitely lifted, and I'm glad to be feeling more normal these days. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that every few months or so I seem to spiral into what I refer to as a "funk" (the "D" word just seems so big). I attribute some of it to exhaustion, some to hormones, some to my recent hermit status which leads to way too much introspection, and of course, like many ailments, a lot to my spiritual state. I lose my vision and my enthusiasm for a few days to a week or so, and I'm always grateful when the Lord sees fit to lift me out of the quicksand.

And now, the post wouldn't be complete without a recent Emma-ism:

Emma: "Ow! I banged my toe and it hurts, Mommy."

Me: "Let me see...which toe is it?"

Emma: "The one next to the little piggy that ate roast beef."

You gotta love kids' points of reference.

It's great to hear that you are doing better! I can certainly identify with being in a funk at times. Fortunately it never lasts too long. I sure hope we can connect at some point this coming weekend - any chance of you being in Laredo? If not perhaps we can stop by for a brief visit on Monday.
Have a great day!

Hey! Once again, Emma is so cute and funny :) I wanted to let you know that I can request days off at work if it's a week in advance. So if you have any potential date nights in mind, just give me a call and I can request that night off! I hope you're doing great! I love you! :)

So glad you're feeling better. I've been there, done that as well. I'm always so thankful when God lovingly carries me to the other side. I will continue to lift you, and your family, up in prayer!

Hi! Great to hear your feeling on top of things again. You are right, we have all been there. It's strange when you know you have every reason to be rejoicing, and yet you just don't seem able.
