Yes, the lovely, spiky, post-partum hair

It's a bummer that my hair is doing this again, but alas, 'tis so. At least I have an explanation.

Does this happen to you, too?

YES! And now that I've finally almost recovered from round 1 I find myself facing this predicament again. I have really light blond (white) hair on the sides, so instead of a crew cut, I end up looking like I've got a receding hairline for MONTHS until it grows back in and gets long enough to actually show that I'm not bald but rather just a natural blond. Ah, the benefits of pregnancy related homones!

I've actually had to console many a friend after their hair starts to fall out around 4 months postpartum. The spiky thing is sort of funny to me - and my husband LOVES to make fun of it. I totally feel for bald men now. It hurts to have all your hair fall out.

By the way, you can always dye your hair red when the spikes start to grow - I did and it made it WAY more obvious....

Hey there, Sara M.! I suppose you found me through my friend Kim C. over at Life in a Shoe? Thanks for visiting my blog; I'll hop on over to yours, too.

I laughed when I saw this post because today I had to pay Beyer Plumbing almost $200 to come unplug my bathroom sink. (It took him a whole hour and he had to use an enormous amount of chemicals and some kind of pressure machine that looked rather scary.) The plumber said he's never seen that much hair in a sink before. I directed him to the floor (which I haven't swept in a couple days), and he gawked in amazement at how much hair falls out of my head.
When I was pregnant with #2, I had to be matron of honor in a wedding. The green pleated skirt is another story, but the hair stylist had to use two full sets of hot rollers on my hair since it was stuck in growth-mode.
